This combination has proved the most popular combination for customers wanting to record people remotely when they are away from home.
The camera, DVR (Digital Video Recorder) and PIR are sited earlier in the day/week/month. Once armed, when someone enters the room, the PIR switches on both the camera and DVR which records the scene, until there is no longer any movement.
The camera and PIR should be in the same room and the DVR can be hidden in the same room, up/downstairs or in an adjacent room. The DVR can be mains powered and has an internal battery for up to 10 recordings of 3 minutes.
The scene in the observed area can then be viewed by connecting a TV/monitor to the DVR or the internal SD card can be removed for playback on a PC/laptop.
