To get started with a covert camera system, this combination has proved the most popular combination. For customers wanting to observe people from another room in the same building, when they are aware of when the camera needs switching on and off.
The camera is placed earlier in the day/week/month and the user is in another room in the house. The AV convertor is then plugged in to a TV and a VCR or DVD recorder if the evidence needs saving. When he/she wants to observe and record the scene, then the camera can be switched on and off with the remote. This saves the camera battery and avoids having a wire going to the potpourri.
The video/audio is transmitted up to 100 metres outdoors and 10 to 30 metres indoors depending on the construction of the walls – stud walls allow longer distances than brick walls.
The scene in the observed area can then be viewed on the TV and simultaneously recorded if required.
The items in the bundle are:
- ZC-PP-01: potpourri with CMOS wireless camera (£199)
- ZC-AV-01: Wireless to Audio/Visual convertor (£59)
- ZC-Remote-01: allowing the camera to be switched on and off (£109)
The standby battery life of the camera is 6 to 18 months and the life with the camera on, is about 12 hours. The battery in the remote control will last for well over a year. The AV convertor has a mains adaptor and is plugged in next to the TV.
