Comments, Questions and Answers

Expand/CollapseGeneral Feedback

16-Jun-2011 BRAD: Can any of your wireless CCTV packages be used on a Apple MAC computer? Thanks

mark h: Sorry these wireless packages will only run on a PC OS. We don't currently have any wireless packages compatible with a MAC. All of our Wired packages are compatible

21-Jul-2011 Mark b: can you watch remotely over the Internet on a android phone?

mark h: They can however be set up to view through an internet browser, however as there isn't dedicated software available for Smartphone's for this product we couldn't advise if it would work on android through a browser sorry

7-Aug-2011 Zoe: can i use the cctv on a notebook laptop?

mark h: Hi, yes it will work on both a Laptop and PC, you just need a spare USB port and space on your hard drive if you want to record

25-Aug-2011 dave hope: have a camera at the moment but the audio is very poor what guarantees do i have that the audio qual;ity will be better with this equipment

mark h: Dear Dave, audio quality on CCTV cameras generally isn't great. With these wireless cameras if your network has enough bandwidth to support them, the audio will be ok if the cameras are used indoors but outdoors you are likely to just pick up ambient noise. If you require a higher standard of audio quality I would recommend that you look at a separate internal / external microphone and plug that via RCA into a DVR recording device along with your CCTV camera. As with the cameras cheap microphones will be useless, you may need to pay £100 + to get a directional microphone that would be half decent

6-Sep-2011 jonb: Hi - will the software also run on Windows 7?

mark h: Yes it will, we have it running on W7 here

6-Sep-2011 Bardya: Hi, can you view on Iphone 4 or internet?

mark h: On the internet yes you would be able to, unfortunately there isn't an iphone app for this package

27-Sep-2011 Stuart T: Hi, Im thinking about mounting the camera in a bird box..... Does the hood of the camera come off and what are the dimensions of the camera itself (without the mount)?

19-Oct-2011 robert r: hi there will this run on windows xp64 bit?

Paul: Yes

24-Oct-2011 Ulas: Hi, It says wireless on the product description... Does it mean it wirelessly connects to the main usb port or do we need some sort of cable to connect all cameras to the usb port? Could you please give some more information about how to connect the cameras please. Thank you.

Paul: You get a wireless dongal that you insert into the USB port of your computer. This has a ariel on it to wireless comunicate with the wireless cameras. The camera's will still need power and come with power suplys that plug into a domestic normal plug socket.

7-Nov-2011 Paul: Can you connect the cameras direct to an existing 2.4Ghz wireless network as a device or do you need to use the supplied dongle?

jonathan s: you need to use the supplied dongle

8-Nov-2011 Yaggeryaw: Hi, Can this be intalled in a different country and viewed abroad live?

jonathan s: Yes you could do this, the pc that the dongle is connected to would have to be on the internet, then you could remotely login in to the PC to view the cameras.

17-Nov-2011 Simon: How many cameras will the dongle support and if more than the two with the kit can you supply extra items and for what price.

Gavin: Hi, these wireless systems are NOT upgradeable. They work only as a 2 or 4 camera package. Regards

21-Nov-2011 Gillian: Hello. The description says 15m, can I confirm that each camera can be 15m from the dongle, ie. the coverage could be 30m if dongle in the middle.

paul: 15M refers to the distance the camera's can see in the dark. The wireless camera's can get a signal from the reciever up to 150M if there is no such obstructions such as walls ect. If have a modern house with no thick stone walls this system will be fine. We have sold hundreds of these systems and has only had a very small number returned which is allways a good sign.

31-Dec-2011 kingfisher: How long is the lead between the mains adapter and camera? IE how far away can the camera/s be from the mains supply?

Gavin: Hi, most cameras can run up to 80m from the PSU. Some a little further, but never more than 95m. Whilst you can resolve this by sourcing the power locally, the video signal also suffers. Therefore we wouldn't recommend running it any further as the picture quality will deteriorate. Please call our sales team to make sure you purchase the right solution for your situation. Regards

10-Jan-2012 dave s: can you record the images on your pc or is it just a live feed?

paul: Will do both. Has motion detection recording to so you are not wasting hard drive space too.

10-Jan-2012 Deep: what is the storage capacity for the video recording for this package - 2 Camera Outdoor/Indoor Wireless CCTV Package 15M Nightvision Cameras - LCW-1015/2

Gavin: This wireless package does not have a DVR or hard drive with it. The cameras connect to a USB receiver which plugs into your PC which will need to run the software provided. Therefore the hard drive in your PC will act as the storage device. Thanks

12-Jan-2012 Brian: I do not have a suitable power supply, can I use a 12 volt car battery to supply the cameras?

Gavin: Hi, we cannot advise on products we do not sell. Thanks you.

19-Jan-2012 WuffDude: Are these cameras electrically safe to be used outside? How does the wiring stand up to the weather?

paul: They are outdoor camera's they will be no issues with them standing up to the elements. We have sold loads of these packages and have not encountered any such issues.

18-Feb-2012 terry: i have a wireless network with laptop/tv/mobile phones connected will the cctv work ok? or will this interfere with the picture quality?

Gavin: Hi, this system actually works very well within distance of other wireless products. We've tried it in the showroom with a lot of other wireless devices and we didn't get any problems. Thanks

19-Feb-2012 terry: will it work on windows 7 64bit?

Gavin: Hi, this will work on Windows based platforms. Thanks
