Comments, Questions and Answers

Main Product Comments, Questions and Answers

2-Mar-2009 glenn: Hi, is there any sort of zoom/enhance feature built in to this recorder?

mark h: You can magnify the image by a power of two, but this isn't technically a zoom as its just focusing in on the image and making it larger. The effectiveness of this will depend on the quality of the camera you are using. A camera with a high TVL will be best.

23-Jun-2010 Raj: Pentaplex allows the DVR to record more than one camera at once. This DVR does not support this right? So how does it decide which camera output to record in the event of motion on both? Does it have the facility to record on motion only rather than continious? Also, can it FTP video to server aswell as jpeg's? Regards

mark h: Pentaplex refers to the fact that you can Record and playback simultaneously. This DVR as with all the DVR's we sell supports this. All 4 cameras can be recorded and viewed simultaneously. It has motion detection and It can also be set up to FTP Images to email

30-Jun-2010 Raj: does this DVR require a SATA or IDE hard drive?

mark h: Its IDE, however we can supply it with an Avtech SATA convertor if required

8-Jul-2009 Remy D: Can a dvd rewriter be fitted to this unit.

David J: No, a DVD rewriter can not be fitted to this unit

16-Feb-2009 glenn: Could you give some idea of how long on 'continuous record' a 250GB , and for comparison a 500GB HDD would record (in days/hours?) many thanks

mark h: Unfortunately there are too many variables to provide an exact figure - The number of cameras, FPS, Camera TVL. However, with 4 cameras running at 100FPS on Best Quality, a 250gb would be around 9 days, 500gb 18days.

16-Nov-2008 lawrencezarb: Can the HDD be configured for continous recording, ie when the HDD is full, the unit will "roll-over" and overwrite on the HDD.

sajidH: Providing the DVR is set to continuous recording it will do.
